I begin by learning what you want the sleeve to express, including the imagery, references, mood, and visual styles that matter to you. We also discuss placement, scale, existing tattoos, and how much of the arm or leg you want to cover. This gives the design a strong creative direction before individual elements are developed.
From there, I shape the sleeve as one considered composition rather than a collection of unrelated pieces. I look at how the artwork follows the body's natural movement, where transitions can sit comfortably, and how future sessions can connect with earlier work. The result is a practical, personal plan for building detailed artwork at a pace that suits the project.
